Repair Price Guide

PLEASE NOTE: My repair pricing reflects the decades of experience, care and skill I bring to each instrument as well as the cost of maintaining and growing the most professional facility possible to best serve my clients. Please respect that I do not discount repair costs based on the instrument. Budgetary accommodations may be made at my discretion on a case-by-case basis. Each instrument repair is priced individually only after an in-person evaluation. These prices are subject to change without notice and serve as a budgeting guideline ONLY. All repairs are subject to my Instrument Service Agreement and must be picked up within 30 days of completion.

Standard Setup - $80.00

Neck adjustments for proper relief, playing action adjustments at the nut and saddle, cleaning and polishing of frets and fretboard, inspection and cleaning/lubrication of all hardware and electronics, calibration of string length compensation (aka intonation), comprehensive diagnosis of any issues affecting playability or longevity. Non-standard setups (Floating Tremolo electrics, 12-string guitars, etc) are an extra cost.

Hand Cut Nut or Saddle - $160 (includes setup)

Nuts and Saddles hand cut from natural unbleached cattle bone, ebony or the material of your choosing. Fit to your instrument individually, optimized for tuning stability and string length compensation (intonation).

Fret Dress - $180 and up (includes setup)

Complete level, re-crown and polish of each fret to correct playability issues, remove wear and prolong the frets’ lifespan. Neck Tension Jig available at extra cost.

Re-fret - $450 and up (includes setup)

Complete replacement of all frets with new nickel or stainless steel wire of your choice. Stainless steel wire +$100, Bound Necks +$50, Lacquered Fretboards +$200

Acoustic Guitar Pickup Installation - $120 and up (setup included, parts not included)

Prices may vary for different brands and systems.

Electric Guitar Pickup Installation - $60 (parts not included)

Price per pickup, complete re-wire and custom circuits priced individually.

Electronic Component Replacement - $40 per component (parts not included)

Complete re-wires and non-standard wiring scenarios priced individually.

Broken Headstock - $240 and up (includes setup and structural warranty)

This price represents a straightforward break where only one glue-up is needed. Additional structural elements such as splines and overlays are priced individually. Finish touch ups on broken headstocks and similar repairs are priced individually.

Bridge Re-Glue - $240 (includes setup)

Hot Hide Glue available for appropriate applications.

Crack Repair - $50 per inch

Includes interior reinforcement where neccesary. Finish touch up priced individually.

Acoustic Guitar Dovetail Style Neck Re-Set - $900 and up (includes fretwork and setup)

For Martin, Gibson and similar style neck joints in need of angle restoration. Performed with modern wood glue or traditional hot hide glue per application. Includes fret dress and setup. Re-fret and finish touch-up are priced individually/as needed. Other neck joint styles priced individually.

Acoustic Guitar Bridge Replacement - $450 and up (includes bone saddle and setup)

Factory correct replacements hand made from scratch to replace broken or missing bridge. In some cases pre-made bridges can be ordered at reduced cost.

All other repairs and modifications are priced individually. All setup specifications include a 3-month warranty period during which adjustments to neck relief and playing action are offered free of cost. All repairs are subject to my Instrument Service Agreement.
